Back2myroots : A place to share thoughts and grow idea’s. B2MR

With more and more mixed quality hair products being marketed in some case endorsed by celebrities how can we as stylists get clients back into the salon.

How can we convince the client that over the counter hair colour, straitening relaxers are not always all they are marketed to be be it in quality or direction for application!

First and foremost Service. Consultation. Educated sales.

Things that a box hair colour cannot advise on help you with! Yes. The consultation. The advise. Sadly the young person in the chemist or drug store cannot give you sound professional advise on switching colour over processing condition. choice of colour.

Our mission as stylist’s is to actively communicate in an honest way the positive of salon service. The quick fix short sighted results that can arise from. Applying over the counter colour or other products such as some of the much promoted Keratin Relaxing products.

I have written a great deal on this topic on my blog site and through my professional Linked in Group both can be accessed through my web Site.

                                       http://www.back2myroots.co.uk/

The biggest damage done over time is. Over processing. Colour retention fading issues and eventually issues with. Root colour to mid lengths and end colour even deposit healthy vibrant god conditioned hair.

                                           having a bad day?

We have to be able to explain why all of the above issues can and do happen. How we can work with our client to restore condition moisture issues regain colour retention.

Show how and why professional services are of a high quality both in level of skill knowledge commitment and professionalism. It is in our hands to challenge our selves to be educated skilled honest and knowledgeable.

The keys to all success are. Service. Consultation. Skill. Communication. Work with a good distributor for quality ‘Products’ excel in the  service you offer maintain standards through education up dates of products for both the salon and for retail.

Take the time to look and understand the flood of products in the stores. Take some time to read the direction open the box if you can read the directions look at the formulations.

be informed so you can honestly share what you know with your clients.

The more that you can show your clients how knowledgeable you are impress them  a full salon experience. this is what clients remember what keeps them coming back gets you recommended.

With written on the internet in magazines about products our clients are bombarded with the latest must have.It could be a re vamped technique with a new name ‘Ombre colour’ it could be the latest form of hair relaxers or Ammonia free colour .what ever it is be aware of it have a view and opinion.

Stay informed. Be Current.

Know about the latest Organic colour. The herbal miracle. That fast activating additive accelerant does it really work save time improve colour!! I have my own views but you must have your own.

Always remember that claims made about products are just the start. It’s easy to make claims. Question. How and Why . There is nearly alway a compromise. So it’s about balance the advantages and the disadvantages. Sadly some manufacturing companies distributors and sales driven people are not always fully transparent about the claims they make.

Here is an example for you. It’s an accelerator speeds up colour. but only tells half the story. You have to find the rest! again I have my own opinion.

Marketed as a wonder product for stylist’s and technicians speeds up the process for tinting bleaching .deeper deposit. process time 10 to 14 minutes.Better colour retention even with reds. just a few drops in your formulation.

Processes permanent color semi-permanent color, demi-color, bleach, foil and highlift applications in 4 to 10 minutes when added to any manufacturer’s products in conjunction with low heat (super resistant hair allow 12-14 minutes)

Holds color longer, virtually eliminating color fadeout, including reds

But remember sometimes if it sounds to good to be true it may well be! It’s was and is my intention not to name the brand of this product guide above.
